FaithPlans partner, the Focolare Movement, recently unveiled their new EcoPlan during Stockholm+50. The plan was presented to Dr Iyad Abumoghli, Director of the United Nations Environment Programme and Dr Lorna Gold, Director of Movement Building at FaithInvest by Nino Puglisi, a member of the Focolare Movement. The EcoPlan, which was developed with support from FaithInvest, is the work of an international Focolare taskforce which set out to produce general guidelines that link Focolare spirituality and care for creation. The work of the task force is in response to the prioritisation of ecology in a recent Focolare General Assembly.
The EcoPlan provides guidance for Focolare communities around the world on how they can respond to the cry of the Earth by creating their own locally based, culturally specific Faith Plans. To help communities with this process, the Focolare has also just released a call to community grassroots initiatives to apply for seed-funding to develop their own environmental action plans.

The Focolare Movement actively collaborates with the Faith Plans programme to provide faith communities around the world with the opportunity and support to develop long-term environmental action plans. The aim of the Movement is to contribute to building a more united world in which people value and respect diversity.
